Biography

I was born on June 3rd, 1999, in the beautiful state of Colorado. It is was here that I started my journey in music, picking up clarinet, choir, and string bass along the way. I tried my hand at both arrangement and composition in high school as a part of our band, orchestra, and choir finals and this beginning expanded my love for music and provided my gateway into composition. I continued my studies in composition at Colorado State University under Dr. James David, and have had the honor of writing for some wonderful ensembles including the Middle School Outreach Ensemble at CSU, the Mile High Freedom Band, Mann Middle School, and Keokuk High School. I have found great joy in both commission works, and those of my own inspiration.

While much of my beginning inspiration started from literature, I have found myself turning to the beautiful nature of my home state as another source of inspiration, along with the folk songs I teach to my students. It's not difficult to find a piece of my music that has some folk song woven into it. In addition to composition, I teach K-3 Elementary Music, assist with the Beginning and Intermediate Bands for the Colorado Honor Band Association, and serve on the board of the Colorado Chapter of the American Eurhythmics Society.
